Spread the love

(An Endtime Kingdom Mandate)

Strange as it may seem, today’s church has lost touch with the reality of the true gospel that Jesus Christ preached. The true gospel is the complete, full, wholesome and undiluted gospel, different from the doctrine of man; but of God the father through Christ Jesus. With many self-professing Christians all around the world, you can hardly see a church goer who will not tell you he knows all about Jesus and his message, but it’s sad that after a heart-to-heart talk with him/her, all one finds is sheer ignorance and emptiness. Remember Christ asked if he would still find faith on the earth when he comes back (Lk 18:8).

Apostle Paul placed a curse on anyone who would teach a gospel other than the true message Jesus brought: But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so I say now again, if any preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed (Gal 1:8-9)

Believe it or not, churches today have twisted, perverted and lost the true gospel. Some have changed the true gospel to suit themselves. Paul confirmed this in 2Tim. 4:3  for time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. This is happening all around with diverse, half or ill-baked preachers with sugarcoated mouths, feeding their sheep with garbage. They give their own interpretation of the gospel; calling it ‘gospel of grace’, ‘social gospel’ ‘Osas gospel’ (hyper grace which promises unlimited freedom)’, ‘gospel wisdom’, etc.

The true gospel preached by Jesus is found in Mk 1:14-15: Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” It is about telling the good news of the coming Kingdom of God. The true gospel includes the details and implications of salvation and how one can be born into that glorious kingdom.

Who will enter the Kingdom?  Mat 7:21 says “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Even if you are second-in-command to Jesus and you don’t do the will of God you are going no where!!! To be rapturable at Christ’s return, you need to be genuinely born of God and become a new creature. Accept Jesus now and confess it with your mouth (if you have not done so), believe on His word and live by His words (Bible) daily and you will be saved. In our speech, conduct and lifestyle (in and outside the church), we are expected to conform to the true gospel.

“Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” 3John 1:3(ESV)

In the world that is filled with buzz of negative news, disappointing outcomes, failing health indices, incidence of one outbreak or the other.  From lassa, to corona virus and terrorism and we still do not know yet what to experience in the next minute. And it just seems the world cannot get enough and moment of respite seems not to be anywhere approaching. With no iota of doubt, the days are evil and evil reports are trending every day, and almost everywhere.. Fears are on every side, tensions everywhere. I do not know what bad news you have received from the doctor or what you have heard/seen from the media showing the worst prognosis of your situation, or what problems you are facing that is making you lose your mind. The Word of God like a laser beam pierces with hope through the ruts and ruse of darkness with a firm and final verdict. The Word towers over all other untoward projections about your life, saying that He intends that all may go well with you in all walks of life, be it in your  family, finances, career, academics etc, and that you will be in good health and that it will be well with your soul.

I pray for someone reading this right now, that what you are passing through right now, no matter how hopeless, will end in testimony. Your worst fears shall not be your reality in Jesus name. Give God a big praise for you will surely see God working on your behalf through and through as you believe. God bless you. Share your testimonies with us through any of our phone contacts. The standard of God for husband and wife is for both to live together happily for life. But the road to a happy marriage is far from easy as it is sometimes turbulent and chaotic. The rate of marital failure is high, blaming it on things like: not spending enough quality time together, failure to keep communication lines open, financial pressures, child rearing issues and other problems that are beyond control. But while all these are vitally important to creating a happy marriage, and such things are not happening, it’s usually a sign of a much deeper problem. And until this problem is addressed, no amount of external behaviour modification will work.

To have knowledge of what this deeper issue might be, let’s take a look at the Scriptures. Mat 22: 35-40 says: Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked Him a question, saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets

Virtually every marital problem is traceable to one or both partners failing to abide by these two laws. The moment we begin to focus on our own likes and needs over those of God and our spouse, there would be trouble! However, when the love of God and for each other is cultivated by a married couple, their marriage will last and be happy, for love never fails (1Cor.13:8) and love is a perfect bond of unions (Col.3:14).

How often do you really listen to what God or your spouse has to say? When was the last time you brought your spouse before the Lord in your prayer and truly thanked Him for your relationship? If you commit your relationship to God and make a conscious decision each day to put Him and your spouse first, your marriage would be able to weather any storm. You would notice that your focus automatically starts to shift from you or your desires to God and/or your spouse. As a result, communication problems begin to improve, anger and bitterness fade away and you naturally want to spend more time together.

Though we are living in a rapidly changing world, the principle of God for marriage remains the same. Let the word of God fill your heart and guide your relationship with your spouse. Have you struggled to find happiness in your marriage? It’s time for you and your spouse to invite God into your lives and home as the Head. After this, start reading God’s word together and share together. Study Jesus’ example of love and imitate Him. Also think and act like Him. Attend Christian meetings where God’s true word is taught. Practise the habit of praying together, for God’s help to develop this kind of love, which is fruit of the Holy Spirit daily (Gal.5: 22; Heb.10: 24-25).

True religion is not only about coming to church and worshipping GOD or raising holy hands, or doing a lot of activities in the church (which is really not bad), it is also about meeting the needs of others, and also service to humanity. It is also about living a lifestyle worthy of emulation and in tune with the unbendable standard of God.

James 1: 26-27 describes the true religion in practical terms: If any man among you seems to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep him unspotted from the world.

From the above Scriptures, there are three elements that make the true religion: (i) controlled utterances, (ii) help for the less privileged and, (iii) purity of life. Earlier, I explained that going to a nice church, being a worker, being a worship leader, a prayer warrior or even being a minister is not what the true religion that God desires is made up of. God demands that you bridle your tongue if you are a true worshipper; you cannot just say anything or talk anyhow, your word has to be seasoned with salt in season and out of season. If you do, worship to God is an effort in futility.

Secondly, you should be willing to spend your substances and resources on feeding the hungry, giving to the poor, catering for the orphans, the widows and the sick. To God, that is the true worship. God does not reckon with your education, profession, position (however highly placed), wealth, and success if they are not used for the benefit of others. To Him, they are useless and you are liable for eternal punishment! (Matt 25:35-46)

The third thing God expects from you is to live pure, holy; without spot or blemish. Therefore fornication, adultery, idolatry, lies, lust, pride, drunkenness, anger, corrupt practices, worldliness, etc. should not be found in you. It is of no use to worship or serve God stained and full of iniquity but to seek those things that are above where Christ sits at the right hand of God.

‘Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man’ (Eccl 12: 13). May God help us to do the right thing.

There are hundreds of children, teens and youths around us who are orphans, from broken homes, very poor families and those who are persecuted for their Christian faith. Today, thousands of teens and youths in our environment are plagued with diverse negative social and moral vices.  They now see the abnormal as normal. Many of them are already deeply sunk into unimaginable sexual sins, drugs, and all sort of criminal activities, which have damaged their lives silently.
